As I think about this, I don't think there's anything to do anywhere
except LA these days. Here in Charlotte Prince hasn't existed since
1991, and the radio is all the proof you need. You can go on a
"Prince was here" tour in Los Angeles, and everything will still be
there. Every place I remember seeing Prince from back home is gone
now, except for Nell's and Madison Square Garden. Is Avery Fisher
Hall still there? The real question, I guess, is what is there to do
in NYC period. Last time I was back, I ended up going to a slavery
exhibit at a museum, and Central Park. All stuff that I never did
when I lived there because there was always something going on. It's
always nice to take a walk around, but I had to wait until late at
night because I've been away from the city so long the crowds
freaked me out. A word of warning for the NPNY'ers about to head to
Atlanta...when you come back to visit the first time it will feel
like you're visiting Tokyo.
Derek, you're our only hope. The city needs you. The NPNYers
