Hello all, At the moment I am teaching two pipers from the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers to play NSP at Vimy Barracks in Catterick Garrison. I am two months in ad their droning is coming on as is their command of the chanter. Early days yet though. Does anyone know of anywhere I can get hold of the first tune book on CD or Richard butler's excellent tape transferred onto CD? I have tapes but these days mention tapes to 'younger people' and they look bemused and start mentioning the steam age and wind up record players. If you can't stick it in a computer and download it onto ipod then it does not exist. Nobody has tape machines any more. So, MISSION......to get the tune/tutor books onto CD. Then get them to the Fusiliers. That way we have another audience for Northumbrian music consisting of the entire British Army... And as it's the Army it will be whether they like it or not! Brilliant. Envisage a new audience of thousands, or after the next defence cuts, three men with defective rifles, a broken down land rover and a Cadet with a pointy stick! No muttering in the ranks..... That includes you Private Ormston! Medals all round to whoever can achieve this. Stand easy...... David Ward Major (Retd) TD (Top secret. Contains details of the British Army's new secret weapon. Even more deadly than the Highland Wailpipe) (Satnd back! This message will self destruct in 40 years if the Government can afford it, or decides to produce it in bio-degradable format) Errrmmm....... I've been piping for too long haven't I.......
