Hi,

Just wondering if any of you are using XP Advanced Server (Build 3505) and
are having issues with Group Policy. Here's my dilemma.

I'm using RIS to deploy our XP Pro image. It's completley unattended and
installing in under 15 mins (using a RIPrep image). We have a group policy
that installs Office XP. It's a Computer applied setting. When the machine
is finished being RIS'd, it does one last reboot. At this point, all is
complete, including the machine being in the domain. Upon booting up, the
managed software should install but it doesn't. If I log in once - local or
into the domain - log out and reboot, the group policy gets applied upon
boot up. If I log in for the first time, run gpresult, the information
provided tells me that the GP for installing Office XP was infact applied,
even though there is no Office XP installed. I have heard that if you use
the default AD Users and Computers from the Start Menu, create a new Group
Policy and edit it there, it will not work in the fashion you would expect.
I have created all Group Policies from snap-in's and applied them to the AD
Users and Computers using a snap-in. The Security on the GP is correct as
well. Has anyone else come across this or know where I can start looking?

Thanks,
Tony
