A question , cause I do not know the answer.
By the time you add the cost of citrix to the cost of solaris ICA and the
cost of implementing, is it much less than the cost of a wyse or NCD winterm
that does x11 and TS ???

Would save having to learn another two pieces of software.

cheers
Dean

Sorry for answering so late.

I've been using X-terminals to access Win2K Terminal Servers for 2 years
now.
First, you need to get MetaFrame for Windows 2000 or MetaFrame XP. This
alone will give you ICA connections.
To get X-terminals to connect, you either need the Solaris ICA client or
another Citrix Software package named: UIS (Unix Integration Services).
Currently, we're using UIS, but we're planning to move to the Solaris ICA
client since Citrix is retiring this software package.

My experience with the Solaris ICA client is that it's a little slower than
UIS, but it works fine.

In summary, you need to get MetaFrame for Windows 2000 or MetaFrame XP.
The Unix ICA client (Solaris, HP or IBM) is a free download from the Citrix
site below:

If you have any other questions, feel free to email me directly.

Subject: Accessing Terminal Services from X-Terminal

I am currently running a Citrix Winframe server, permitting users with NCD
X-Terminals to run Windows applications (at the same time as they connect to
their Unix environment from the same terminal)

I now have installed Windows 2000 Terminal Services as a trial, and it looks
to be a good alternative. However, to connect to the Terminal Services
server I have to download and install the "tsclient"

What do I do to connect from the x-terminal to the TS server. (With
winframe, the user issues a command like this:
        rsh <servername> wincenter -display $DISPLAY$
where the variable $DISPLAY points to the IP address of the x-terminal

Any suggestions will be appreciated

Thanks

Cheers

Bud Dawson
