We have mcaffee running.
I have the updates of it all.
I have evern unchecked the thingy you are talking about.
Something like scan floppies on shutdown.

What antivirus software do you have running? I recall Norton or one of
them
used to do this because it is switching modes to scan the floppy but
gets
hung up when it tries to switch back. Their is a setting to turn this
off or
you can change it to perform this task differently.

I have win2k installed on an old compaq server with sp2 on it.
It now does not like to bring the pc to the shutdown screen.  It doesn't
auto shut off like more other pcs of today, but it used to bring the
machine to it's now safe to shutdown your computer.

Any thoughts on how to get it going again?
