They tell me they got a good system state backup from Net Backup. We will
probably do a test restore of a test OU this week.

It was about 2-3 months ago when we tried a restore and failed. I have
forgotten the details. Time to go read the docs.

I believe we have the tape team restore AD to a file located someplace other
than where they got it from. From there we use utilities and the restored
file, to bring back part or all of AD depending upon our need. Does this
sound correct?

You can only backup the AD if you backup system state. Hope that helps We
are using Veritas 8.0 and it works just fine.

When u select system state on the netbacku client or select all_local_drives
from the policy editior u will get a AD backup hence its "living" in the
systemstate
