Formulas can be good, but they need to be fairly complicated to be good.
Group of servers gets assigned a "Magic word" Delimiter used IE: $ Date string, in a different format IE 17-Nov-1987 Filnstones$17-Nov-1987$ Would make for a pretty good password, but still one that you could remember. Keep the Magic word the same, change the date string every month. This is fairly complex and still manageable.
