I wish it was that easy but if you're looking for some great MS humor read the status of this doc. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q264678 -----Original Message----- From: Ed Esgro [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2002 4:25 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: windows 2000 lockouts At some point they are doing something that is attempting to authenticate to a server and passing the wrong credentials. Maybe they have a drive mapping passing credentials? Do you have account lockout policies? Is it all users or just a few? If only a few, what is different about these few users? What applications, servers, mappings, etc are they using differently then a user that isn't being locked out? You really have to research why, it is happening behind the scenes and for good reason, they are hitting the lockout threshold. You do have account lockout policies right? -----Original Message----- From: Gonzalez, Alex [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2002 3:08 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: windows 2000 lockouts Right I understand that but for some reason after they are authenticated their account just starts randomly locking out. -----Original Message----- From: Tim Rutherford [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2002 3:03 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: windows 2000 lockouts If the users provide the wrong password too many times when trying to log in, then the accounts may be locked out depending how high you have your lockout threshold set, and how many times they typed the wrong password. -Tim -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Gonzalez, Alex Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2002 1:37 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: windows 2000 lockouts Unfortunately no. They are just regular Domain User accounts. Are these accounts tied to services running on any servers? If so they may be passing the wrong credentials. Then if you have an account lockout policy, these accounts will be locked out. -----Original Message----- From: Gonzalez, Alex [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, January 07, 2002 4:38 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: windows 2000 lockouts Does anyone else have experience with Win2k Domain Controllers just locking out accounts randomly?
