John: I started with ARCServeIT 2000 and dumped it within a few weeks (I even got CA to give us our money back) after discovering the same thing you did - CA is a dreadful company. I switched to Backup Exec and haven't looked back. It's a much, much better product (IMHO), and their support staff have been great. Once you get up to speed with Backup Exec, there's very little maintenance required, other than changing tapes.
