Quick test Open a command prompt window on that machine. type "net send myserver test" where my server is that machine name. A window will pop up and say test and an event is logged in the system event log.
If it does not then right click the system log and select clear all events. If the file is corrupt it should clear it. -----Original Message----- From: Constance Baptist [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, February 04, 2002 11:35 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Event Log Hello All, The system event log on my server is not recording any events. I am almost certain that it is corrupt. I was told that I should just go to system32 file and delete the current log, reboot the system and NT will create another. However, since this is a production database server, I donot just want to reboot during the day. Please advise as to how I can get the system event log working. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx ------ You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
