For the past few weeks I have been using a product called Spotlight for
Windows from Quest Software www.quest.com/spotlight_windows . So far
this product seems promising, plus right now they are offering 10 server
licenses for free.

Subject: Server analysis tool with exact problems?

I know there is the perf monitor included with Win2k...but is there a
better
tool that admin's out there highly recommend to be able to monitor all
critical activity on a server and show where the bottlenecks are and
recommend improvements in architecture?

I have multiple cases to need a tool to actively monitor the server and
record activity for the day and find out where and how the server is
being
utilized (drive i/o, error, network i/o, cpu and more). Then, when a
user
complains about network slowness, I can pinpoint exactly what is going
on.
Would be nice to have the tool take the numbers and apply to real world
answers to the causes and solutions based on theory.

What are people using that works the best and will not break the bank.

Thanks for the input.

Ron
