Being in a small shop I have an advantage being the only IT guy... But even
though I could, I don't for the most part. Unless it is on a separate
machine and won't effect the production servers.

As a general rule we do not make changes during the week unless we have
redundant systems.

Subject: Stupid Question

I know this question is out of the ordinary but, I was just wondering how
many other network admins aren't allowed to make system changes during the
week. Reason being I am trying to install something that doesn't require
any outages and my boss wont let me. Just trying to see if I am a loner or
if this is something happening in other places as well.

Thanks.
