if you use compaq proliant hardware look into the "lights-out" edition cards. not cheap, but great for remote data-centers, colo's and even the corp data center.

Advantage being that I can be assured of logging back into my last desktop state even if I don't re-login for a couple days. Granted....that's a minor convienance but ...
