we don't give of our users power users rights. they all are "restricted
users". because of that decision, we have to test every application prior to
installing it onto the end users computers. they are allot of applications
that claim to need power users rights, but you would be surprised how easy
it is to allow that application to run as a restricted user.

You may also find applications that need the user to have power user rights.
We have two apps that all our staff use, so they all have power user

Well, if you think about it and look at the user rights assignments, power
user in Win2k is more like a domain user in NT 4.0. Personally, I don't
think I would set anyone up on win2k with less than power user rights,
though. My 2 cents.

Lets make sure I get this Correct....
1. By default in Win2k/NT/XP local users (non Admins or Power Users) do not
have the rights to install local Printers 2. I am in a Windows 2000/AD
environment is there any way to allow users to do this without giving them
at least Power User rights?
