So what u want looks a bit like this
. . . .... .. .
. . . . . . . .
>< ><
| |
-< >-
where:
. is a user
>< is an AP to the users
|
-< is the wireless connection between APs (ie APs in bridging mode)
As has already been stated, this functionality would be specific to the
manufacturer (ie netgear APs only just support bridging)
To achieve it with say netgear APs, you would need 4 ,2 for the users on
different channels (say channels 5 and 6), and 2 APs for the bridge on say
channel 1.
For the bridge APs it would be best to use directional antennas that have
some gain so that the User APs can be 2x the range apart from each other.
the problem is finding APs that will allow you to replace the rubber
omni-directional antenna with a uni-directional (sp?)
A pair of 802.11a APs would be good to use to keep the speed up between the
bridge APs think of these as your wirless backbone

Sort of:
What I want is to eliminate cables
So when I get towards the end of the AP range I can install another AP and
Connect the 2 together
Keep in mind we will probably only be using small AP's like a Linksys,
D-Link or something Small.
I know I will have disable DHCP on one of them and that type of stuff I can
test.
I was just wandering if anyone else has tried to do this.
