"Dynamic registration or deregistration of one or more DNS records failed with the following error:
Above is what you have to fix. Is BIND configured to accept updates from your DCs? It may not be automatic. And as far as the other person said, that the _underscore zones MUST be delegated to W2K. I disagree. Our Forest here is fully supported by UNIX/BIND 8.x which is administered by Lucent QIP. We have set the default to reject updates to DDNS unless the IP address that wants to do the update is specifically authorized. When we build a DC, one of the steps is to go into QIP and authorize the DCs IP address to update BIND. Any other troubleshooting tips anybody may have ? Make sure all DCs list the same set of dynamic-update-enabled DNS servers. Try NETDIAG, DCDIAG, and NLTEST (search the MS KB for tips on using these). Check the logs on the DNS server for any errors, especially "update denied" messages. Check the logs on the DCs for any messages from the "NetLogon" service about errors registering DNS records. -- Ben Scott <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | The opinions expressed in this message are those of the author and do | not | necessarily represent the views or policy of any other person, | entity or | organization.
