Hi Ed... if elkins can get to the point where it says that he is denied
access. then I am sure he has changed his working directory on the
command prompt to the folder that contains the cmdcons ...
but elkins.. try this as well... just go thru the command prompt
go to the i386 folder
and then type it in as Ed wants you to.. no harm in trying it out
once.,.... one more attempt.. no harm in that.

I am logging in as "God", permissions are correct and I am installing to
the
C: from the CD ROM drive. I am using directions that I obtained at
www.windows2000faq.com using a search like how do I install the
Recovery
Console?
How did you guy's install yours. Or are you just not using it as an
installed option? Servers are 2k SP2.

If you are trying to install from the CD I think the syntax would be
D:\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons

D: being your cd rom drive.

Subject: Command console

Help,
I cannot seem to install the command console on any of my 2000 servers.
When
I try I get an access denied. I am installing directly form the CD from
the
CD command prompt I move to the i386 dir and then type C:\>winnt32
/cmdcons.
Has anyone had the same problem or am I just doing it wrong.

TIA
Justin
