As far as installing patches look at UpdateExpert from St. Bernard you can push patches check what patches you have and when they were installed. This is perfect product for large and small company's (50) machines. The price for the software should be very easy to justify hfnetchk doesn't find all the patches you really need. We have had UpdateExpert for 3 months and have installed over 200 patches and I only use it on 22 servers. The best part is no clients are install and it will patch IIS, I.E., Office, Outlook, NT, 2000, and I think XP. Good luck. -----Original Message----- From: Paul Pawluk [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, June 24, 2002 11:53 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Remote Install Software
Correct, it only tells you what you need, as well as what's installed, depending on the option used. type hfnetchk -? for optopn list. It does not install anything. Shavlik's Hfnetchk Pro product can install hotfixes. They have a free version (Hfnetchk Pro Free) that allows you to scan and install to a single computer on your network so you can try it out. It does what it's supposed to with reasonable efficiency, but I can't justify its cost for the size of my network (<50 users). Anyone else used it? Can anyone confirm this?
