As far as installing patches look at UpdateExpert from St. Bernard you can
push patches check what patches you have and when they were installed. This
is perfect product for large and small company's (50) machines. The price
for the software should be very easy to justify hfnetchk doesn't find all
the patches you really need. We have had UpdateExpert for 3 months and have
installed over 200 patches and I only use it on 22 servers. The best part is
no clients are install and it will patch IIS, I.E., Office, Outlook, NT,
2000, and I think XP. Good luck.

Correct, it only tells you what you need, as well as what's installed,
depending on the option used. type hfnetchk -? for optopn list. It does
not install anything.

Shavlik's Hfnetchk Pro product can install hotfixes. They have a free
version (Hfnetchk Pro Free) that allows you to scan and install to a single
computer on your network so you can try it out. It does what it's supposed
to with reasonable efficiency, but I can't justify its cost for the size of
my network (<50 users). Anyone else used it?

I thought HFNETCHK could only see what fixes are required, but not
actually install them. Can anyone confirm this?

I have seen Shavlick (SP) HFNETCHK program that
does the same thing - remote install the fixes,
how is this done?
