We have the same problem here, I recall reading somewhere that to get higher
connection speeds you need digital modems. I have not had a chance to look
in to this further since we only have a few users using it, it is not a high
priority. If I can remember where I read that, I will post it.

Subject: Wondering about RRAS modem speeds.

I just recently took over the RRAS server and am wondering if anyone has any
info on getting higher speeds. Currently our setup is like this: the Dial up
Users call into our PBX, which then this hunt group searchs for an open
extension one of 8. I'm being told that the reason nobody is able to connect
at a higher speed than 21,600 is that when it goes through the PBX the
conversion from digital to analog it's baud rate gets cut in half. I have
not found any info on this but can only imagine that this could be the case.
Has any one else been told this, or is it just our crappy PBX, or are there
other things that you could mention / suggest to check, as I have already
gone through the digi board and tested all modems and they seem to be
responding at the speeds that they are marked to be ex:56k 33.6k???
