Adam,

You can tell Word to "Trust all installed add-ins and templates."

Click Tools->Macros->Security->"Trusted Sources" tab

Than place a check mark inside the "Trust all installed add-ins and
templates" check box.

To Digitally Sign the macro you need to get a Digital Certificate. These are
usually issued by a Certificate Authority (CA), such as VeriSign, although
some companies may obtain a certificate for the company and then issue their
own certificate to individual business units or employees of the company.

There are several classes of certificates. Those that can only sign email,
those that can sign programs or macros, and those that can issue other
certificates. Be sure to choose the certificate to match your needs. The web
site below gives a little more detail.

If you do not need global verification of the certificate you wish to sign
your macro with, you can create your own certificate using the SelfCert tool
from Microsoft. Visit this web page for more information:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q206637

The important thing to remember with the SelfCert tool is that you will have
to tell employees to "trust" an unverifiable source. Do this once and you
may open Pandora's Box to trusting future unverifiable sources.

Be good to yourself,
Westley Annis
