Search around - seems like an issue veritas has had for awhile. Hmm...are they sleeping over there? Is their one programmer overworked? This bugs the @$%# out of me when a company is selling software....has a problem happening to a lot of people, and still no cause for it. I will try to uninstall/reinstall again on the server to get this working.
Another question for all - is anyone running BE on a separate server and using the remote agent to backup all their servers over the wire? I wanted to do this long ago to keep the production server simple and not clutter it with BE, NAV etc. My only question is what speed the backups happen using the remote agent and pulling thru the wire. Our network consists of 5 servers all running thru 3com 10/100 switches (i.e. no gig to the servers). Backup times now are 6 hrs for approx 40g of data local (lots of small files). This machine backs up 15 servers to a DLT loader. We haven't upgraded it to SP3 but we are not having any problems with the engine shutting down. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Fred Spanier Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2002 2:59 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Veritas BE engine hang I'm having the same problem. I have two clients now including our home office, where the BE job engine shuts down, try to restart and it will shut down again shortly. Works fine for awhile, then happens again. Grrr what a nuisance. Server is Win2k/sp3.
