Had the bugbear do this to one of my clients as well - I am curious to know if that was the issue here -
Thank you, Robert Saylors Technical Services Manager FoxBerry Incorporated -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Peter Andrews Sent: Tuesday, December 03, 2002 1:23 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Re: Haywire printers Hi, Do you have up to date anti-virus software installed, a "newish" virus called bugbear prints rubbish to the printers. The following is from the link http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/articles/bugbear3.html May be worth checking into.. HTH, Peter Andrews 5. Why are my printers printing out garbage? W32/Bugbear-A attempts to copy itself to any available network resource, this can include printers. Printers cannot become infected, but they may start to print out the worm's code. This will waste a lot of paper. 6. How do I stop it printing? Turn the printer off and on again. If it resumes printing out the worm code, then switch it off. You may have to clean all computers before switching your printers on again. If you can see the print queue for the network printer, try to clear out all outstanding jobs. If you can't, or if that doesn't work, contact your IT department. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Holstrom, Don" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "NT 2000 Discussions" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, December 03, 2002 6:02 PM Subject: RE: Haywire printers > No, she only has one printer installed. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Ed Esgro [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Tuesday, December 03, 2002 12:38 PM > To: NT 2000 Discussions > Subject: RE: Haywire printers > > > How about just stop the spooler service while you determine the cause?
