  Also, many UPSes have, or can be equipped with, an environmental
monitoring device.  For example, if you have an APC Smart-UPS with available
option slot, you can obtain and install the Measure-UPS plug-in module.  
Combined with their monitoring software, you can send pages, email messages,
and even do unattended shutdown.  A good thing to have in conjunction with
the alarm service.
