Yes, and it's working well (it seems) -- the problem seems to be that
pdfetex (and friends) can't find the files they need; neither the tex
files I want to process, nor cont-en.tex, cont-nl.tex, etc.

That's were it is. I copied texexec.rme to
c:\TeXLive\bin\win32\texexec.ini as well, setting TeXShell to fptex.
And mktexlsr was run during installation, and I've run it later.
All I get is "I can't find file `...'".
In case it may be of help/interest, I've included the output of
