Hi Jim, The reason is in Latin Modern being different versions. TeX Live has an older version (2.004). On CTAN we found 2.005, ConTeXt standalone has 2.006, and at the GUST page we found 2.007 (so we need to update).
We did not check the ctan version, but the X Height as well as some other parameters have been changed in the newer versions. /Mikael PS You get several warnings of overloading core macros. For the \stopitemize one, use \setupitemize[after=...] instead of doing your redefinition.
