Version 2.005 only updated the LaTeX support files:
https://www.ctan.org/ctan-ann/id/[email protected]
so the fonts themselves are still at v2.004 on CTAN:
$ wget
'https://mirrors.ctan.org/fonts/lm/fonts/opentype/public/lm/lmroman10-regular.otf'
exiftool -FontSubfamilyID -Copyright -FileModifyDate lmroman10-regular.otf
Font Subfamily ID : 2.004;UKWN;LMRoman10-Regular

File Modification Date/Time : 2009:10:30 13:04:00-06:00
(It is possible for TL to have different versions of files than CTAN,
but it's exceedingly rare and usually means that something went wrong,
hence why I double-checked here.)

I realize that you had nothing to do with this, but I'm not sure that
changing the metrics 15 years later without bumping the major version
number is a good idea.
