Not all. In openSUSE that is not the case. I made it for myself. I have a
file
/SharedFunctions/Xmodmap.extra
which I use with:
xmodmap /SharedFunctions/Xmodmap.extra
In this I have now:
keysym period = period greater ellipsis
That does the trick.
