I guess the subject should change to NTOP metrics
because probably by now it is understood NTOP runs
fine on RH8.

I would be up for offering metrics on the NTOP systems
I run ... I will have to look into it. If anyone has
any suggestions let me know.

On the other hand ... if someone is having performance
problems with NTOP there are things you can do like
disable name resolution, lower the detail of tracing,
etc.. or possible a hardware upgrade is needed?

Here is some quick stats I can give you now;

I run a small ASP supporting about 16 customers
(rather large customers) accessing a financial
application (via Internet and private lines) .... I
have one NTOP server 450MHz, 512MB RAM, 100MB FE, RH8,
latest NTOP 2.1.57pre cvs snapshot (like 3-3-03 or
something) .... everything is and has been working
fine ... it has never crashed. I will have to look
into the NTOP performace statistics alittle closer but
here is something to look at.
