I have this exact same problem with 2.2 ... I submitted a bug report, and was given instructions to run through the debugger, which I have not yet had time to do.. in the meantime, I have 2.1.56 running - although it's a development version, it seems to work better than either 2.1.3 or 2.2, and it's been running now for days with no hangs.
