I've sniffed a few WLANS - for testing purposes only of course - never recall having any problems with associations. I have Ethereal on a windoze laptop I'll play with later. Bottom line is it's not an nTop thing. To make sure nTop is working correctly generate traffic to/from the system nTop is running on through the wireless NIC - nTop should see it. If not you have another problem.
