Hi,
finally i have setup a freebsd system!
release 5.5 on a vmware machine, one partition
setup ntop from /usr/ports ( ntop-3.2_3) and all work fine!
add a vmware disk on ide0:1 and clone ide0:0
remove original disk and change ide0:1 on ide0:0
restart system and ntop work :)

dump and restore use differents options then your
there are differents on my method ( freebsd version, options, etc.)
unfortunally, is not the same thing :(

i have searched any docs that explain techniques to clone a freebsd system
many use dump utility

you clone your system in the same manner? try this, clone on the fly :)
What version of freebsd are you running?
what do you have made after restore?

I have not check the integrity but the rest of the system works fine and

It is possible that every time i make the image they corrupt in the same
point?
The dump utility may not preserve permissions or links?
