My last thought on this could've been a perms issue. I've had a couple
cases when after the install the perms weren't right for some reason and
I had to correct before everything would work. Also had some issues
where ntop would bind to the IPv6 stack but not v4. Whatever it was
sounds like you got it resolved so that's good!

Subject: Re: [Ntop] Setting up two nics

OK, I've disabled eth0, so only eth1 working with a valid ip address
plugged into a hub. No difference. I shut everything down, blew away
both rrd and ntop, redownloaded, compiled, installed and went back to
original config.

Eth0 is plugged into network switch with an address of 192.168.1.45
<http://192.168.1.45/> . Eth1 is plugged into hub, which only has
network switch and firewall connected.

running ntop -w 192.168.1.45:3000 -i eth1 -u root -d

All working!!

If you've disabled your second NIC, which one is active, eth0 or eth1?
Are you still using the same command line - that is, 'ntop -i eth1 -u
root -d'?
