Hi Luca

So how do I check to see if it was compiled with png support? I
installed it using macports.

Thanks,
James

I believe your version of dot has been compiled without png support.
Can you please check this?

Luca

Yes, I had downloaded ad installed the graphviz-2.20.2.pkg yesterday
and that is when I saw the problem concerning the png file. This
morning I installed the graphviz-2.21.20080625.1145.pkg but still
have
the same problem. I'm not sure if I should have attempted to
uninstall
first or not. Opening Graphviz from the applications folder shows it
to be the latter version (2.21...).

Try this http://www.pixelglow.com/graphviz/download/

I have just installed ntop using macports on my 20" iMac. I went
to Local Area Traffic Map and got the error that it could not find
dot
in usr/local/bin so I did a web search, found it and installed the
packaged version for Max OS 10.5. Now when I go to Local Area
Traffic
Map I get the error:

Local Network Traffic Map

ERROR

Creation of network map failed

Command was:

/usr/local/bin/dot -Tpng -Goverlap=false /opt/local/var/ntop/
ntop.dot -o /opt/local/var/ntop/network_map.png 2>&1

Results were:

Format: "png" not recognized. Use one of: canon cmap cmapx cmapx_np dia dot eps fig hpgl imap imap_np ismap mif mp pcl pic plain plain-
ext ps ps2 svg svgz tk vml vmlz vtx xdot

Apparently ntop does not recognize the png file which I guess is
default for Macs. Any suggestions on how to solve?

Thanks Much,

Jim
