I also use XP and I found
http://www.openxtra.co.uk/freestuff/ntop-xtra.php
which allows you to run ntop as a service.
It works although I have to say that a) I've found this version
does crash occasionally, b) it didn't serve all of my needs
although it could if I'd used the RRD database. In my case I
found it better to write a python program to use windump and
I can now monitor everything by port mirroring on my netgear
GS108 switch and I have total control of the data monitoring
about 10 users on our network. If this sounds like its of interest
