Dear Parents & Guardians,

The board has asked me to alert you to potential issues when you arrange trips
for your child (e.g. Grad trip) through agencies such as "S-Trips". Very often
their promotional material and brochures "appear" to be officially sanctioned.
The S-Trip brochures for example, use school names, and may give the impression
to parents that these trips are sanctioned by the TDSB and supervised by school
staff. You need to know that these trips are not school sponsored or endorsed.
Each year, students are put in difficult situations and are placed at risk
during these trips. Once again, there are no qualified staff accompanying
students and the school and the TDSB do not recommend or sanction these trips.
All of OUR trips have official TDSB forms and are signed off by staff, as well
as being supervised by teachers. If you have questions or concerns about any
field trip or excursion, please call us.

Please consider my caution carefully before handing over money for these kinds
of trips and allowing your child to go.
