Dear Parents and Guardians, It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you of the death of one of our former teachers, Elizabeth Slean. Ms. Slean was a valued member of our staff from 2013 to 2015. She was a beloved teacher in our Moderns and English departments and a coach and mentor to many NT students. Most recently, Ms. Slean taught at Leaside High School. Our guidance team and our social worker will provide support to any student or staff member that might require it. I wanted you to be aware of this sad news as word travels quickly. A funeral service and celebration of Ms. Slean's life will take place on Saturday March, 4th at Mount Pleasant Cemetery Funeral Centre in the early afternoon. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research would be greatly appreciated. I will send you more information about the time of the funeral as it becomes available.
