A Message from the NTCI Parents Mailing List: _______________________________________________
I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy! To all the mothers in our school community, Happy Mother's Day! Enjoy the celebration! >From NT Student Services! We know that many of you access Guidance information via the NT Moodle, but we wanted to make sure every single student can access our announcements so we are inviting you all to join our Guidance Google Classroom. Our Guidance Google Classroom is divided by Grade level. You will find our announcements in the stream; check out the classwork section for information, links, and forms. Our Guidance Google Classroom is how we will be sending information about important dates, deadlines, scholarships, volunteer opportunities, job opportunities and enrichment opportunities - every student must join to access this information! All students will receive an invitation to join our Google Classroom. In case you don't receive that via email or the app, here are the codes you can use to enroll yourself in the Guidance Classroom: Grade 9: 75xj26j Grade 10: aeanavj Grade 11: seanvht Grade 12: xirxfrb Please note that we will give you notice before we disable our Moodle page but from this point forward it will not be updated. It does serve as an archive of all the emails we have sent out this year, though, which you may access at https://ntci.on.ca/moodle/moodle/mod/forum/view.php?id=2695 (you can access this without a Moodle password by choosing "Login as a guest"). We look forward to seeing you all in the Google Classroom (and in person, hopefully soon)! >From the NT Parent Council! The NTCI Parent Council is hosting a Virtual Social on Zoom on May 14 at 7:30 p.m. All NTCI parents are invited! There is no agenda, no discussion topics, just an opportunity to see some familiar faces, make new (virtual) connections, and chat about life in the time of COVID-19 while you sip coffee, wine or the beverage of your choice! A Zoom link will be provided closer to the date. Email [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> to RSVP and to receive the Zoom link. We look forward to seeing everyone then. >From the TDSB with regards to commencement: The following is taken from a board directive issued late this afternoon: As previously communicated, we had hoped that it would be possible for proms, graduation ceremonies and other events to go forward this year, however with schools closed until at least May 31 and restrictions on large gatherings still in place, this will not be possible during this academic year. As a result, the decision has been made to cancel or postpone these events throughout the system until at least the end of the school year. With this in mind and with the understanding that school communities will be looking for these important milestones to happen, we are asking all schools to postpone graduation ceremonies to the fall when there is an increased likelihood that large gatherings will again be permitted. While we hope that these events can proceed in the fall, we will have to reassess the situation at that time with a particular focus on the advice of public health officials with regard to large gatherings. Therefore, North Toronto will re-schedule this year's commencement ceremony until October 2020 (date to be determined shortly).
