Some other things to ponder, given the recent statements that the internet part involves foreigners: a) indications are that NSA has shared data with other foreign intelligence agencies (such as the UK's GCHQ). Is this a way for those agencies to spy on their own citizens without warrants etc.? b) there's been a lot of finger pointing at the Chinese as hackers attacking & stealing foreign IP. However here there appears to be a potential institutionalised ability for US agencies to look at & stake foreign IP transiting US corporations. Probably not being used for that now, but could be at any time without anyone really knowing.
