  XP and 2000 worked fine together.  I have much less experience with
Vista and Win 7, but they seem okay.  Now, XP and Vista, no way.

  So it might be more accurate to say a major version jump is the
breaker, which at least makes sense.  (2000=5.0, XP=5.1, Vista=6.0,
7=6.1, 8=7.0.)

  Of course, this was more obvious back when MSFT admitted admitted
Windows has major and minor releases.  :-p
