No joke. Have you read the terms of any of Microsoft's[1] agreements lately? They basically say "All your data are belong to us." They go on to promise to take really good care of it, and scrub your identification out, but they also say that might not work, and if so, too bad. "I do suspect privacy was a passing fad."
