Everybody is spying on you.

Every single search engine out there runs you through an ad server first before
you get you listing of sites. I once edited my hosts file and started blocking
ad sites. I found out that if you block all of the search engine ad sites, you
will never get any results. Also having a 700K hosts file loading on your
computer slowed it down quite a lot.

So first of all your search engine tracks you, then the web site you go to
gives you a cookie so it can track you, and on top of it all the government is
also watching everything you do.

The President of Brazil said the US is no longer a real democracy.

She said: “Without the right to privacy, there is no real freedom of speech or
freedom of opinion and, therefore, there is no actual democracy,”

Looks like the BBC has picked up the story and running with it. Seems LG is now
calling this a serious problem, guess from the bad press it would be!

This is part of the reason I opted the HTPC route over smart TV's. There is so
much metering going on these days in the digital age, what meaningful data
could they possible get by tracking TV channel changes at this level (aside
from catalogging your attached storage devices)?

This is unlikely to end well for LG...
