I ran into a problem once because I was using Offline Files and had manually redirected My Documents to my AD account's home folder. The file server has an alias which is used in the AD account, but the path I used for My Documents was to the A record for the server. Offline Files saw that as two separate servers, giving me two separate groups of Offline Files, which became quite a problem. So don't use any aliases for the file server if you do go with Offline Files.
