Perfect. I’ve done that before. Forefront CALs for about $15 each. I’m
guessing the RDS CAL has downgrade rights to 2003? From:

license then you do not have to purchase 5, if you do not have VL
what you can do is purchase 2 RDP cals and 3 of the cheapest items available
to make your initial 5.

Subject: [NTSysADM] RDS/TS Newbie Question
Date: Wed, 7 May 2014 16:10:30 -0500I think I’m in a position where I might
need to purchase RDS/TS CALs from MS. Never done it before, and I have no idea
how it works. Overview:There is ONE app in my company that won't work on
Windows 7+. It will only work on XP or Server 2003. Darn it. My thoughts:
The App runs fine on Server 2003, which is supported for another year. I can
install the App on a new Server, and give TWO users Remote Desktop access to
that machine, and they can use the app there.Great.But I have no idea how TS
licensing works. I'm pretty sure I need to license this, since it's not for
remote administration. Right?Any input on how this works? Do I have to buy in
5 packs like a lot of other MS cals? Ideally, I could just buy 2 CALs. Open
License program. Thanks!
