A bit pricey in comparison to the other tablets when you opt for 7" screen and
the 16gb of storage (185.00)

And there seems to be quite a lot of mixed reviews on the site

I assume after the 1 yr of Amazon Freetime you then have to pay?

Amazon actually has a kids edition of their fire HD tablet. It's pretty
amazing, purchased one for my niece and she's been able to abuse quite a bit
(as a 3 year old is want to do) still kicking. the two year 'anything kid
related happens we'll replace it' guarantee is better than anything out there.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a tablet for my niece & nephew ( 8 &5), one perquisite is that
it cannot REQUIRE any type of monthly subscription (their parents are quite
frugal lol ).

As it is they are only allowed to play games (on our phones or tablet) on
weekends, but I want it to be more than a toy/game
I want it to be educational as well so I was contemplating a kindle.

Ipad's are definitely out of running , so any other thoughts/suggestions are
welcomed.

thanks
