Also, I need someone to tell me if my procedure is correct, as the first
article I read confused the issue for me.

The user has been around for a while. We want to have him use his current
local profile as the roaming profile. So here’s my procedure:

1. Log onto the current client computer

2. Copy current local profile to HYPERLINK
"file:///\\\\server\\profiles\\username"\\server\profiles\username

3. Change profile type from Local to Roaming

4. In ADUC, put in the path HYPERLINK
"file:///\\\\server\\profiles\\username"\\server\profiles\username under the
Profile Tab for this user.

5. Reboot client computer and have user log in. He should now be using
the Roaming profile. This can be tested by logging into the laptop this user
is going to be using on the road.

Is this correct?

Subject: Pros and cons for roaming profiles?

Subject says it all. We’re looking at creating a roaming profile for our
Executive Director, and I would like to know if it’s worth the effort for one
user.
