Digi makes good stuff, but I remember it being really expensive for their
high-density stuff.

I picked up a couple of cards from a small company called Eicon networks -
Diva Server. 24 modems per card - plug a T1 in the back and you are done.
Had one doing RAS with Windows Server 2003 for dialup access, and another
in a Lotus Notes server for direct Notes dial-in support. The boards were
flawless - and that's pretty high praise, esp. from the Notes side of
house. Serial support in Domino has always been problematic and I
remember many fellow Notes admins who refused to believe you could have
more than four modems on a Domino server - let alone have them be reliable
:-)

Looks like Dialogic bought the hardware from Eicon (or maybe even Eicon
outright? I can't tell):

The cards used to be about $1,200 and the cost of a PRI T1 is much cheaper
then individual analog lines. They have cards with fewer modems, but with
the pricing of a T1 it was pretty cost effective to just go for a full T1.
