Looking at keeping this in house. However, Google is on my list and I will be testing it.
We also have Sharepoint and I am also looking at that. We are in the process of upgrading to 2010 so when that happens, I'll be testing that as well. For a commercial enterprise, it's $50/seat/year which includes email, Google voice, etc, and it will sync to outlook. I presume it would be less or maybe even free for a school.
