We have SharePoint 2007 with this. We have a top level calender for the overall server team and each 'sub team' under it has a calender where we have rights to post on it. This all feeds up to the master calender for our team. I didn't set it up so can't help much beyond the fact that we have it and don't really have a lot of third party stuff on our sharepoint site which is pretty big.
