I think you are shooting yourself in the foot.

 

If you don't want those records to be scavenged, then they need to be added
manually, not automatically.

Our DNS servers are running Windows 2003 SP2 (*not R2*). Every now and then,
at seemingly random intervals, a random fellow domain server (also running
2003 Server) will drop off DNS and I have to IPCONFIG /REGISTERDNS. Zone
aging/scavenging are both set to 1 day, could this be part of the problem?
Additional info is the zone in question is AD-integrated and allows only
secure updates.

 

Anyone else see this problem before?
