Our providers as well as law enforcement want this. The basic performance metrics I can understand - but, as with anyone with too much power: it corrupts and it cant be trusted - which is already evident in this case.
I can appreciate the desire from law enforcement to want to get gps and/or cell triangulation tracking info - but I can also personally respond definitively with a FU to that. I should have a choice. I bought this thing. Its not your electronic leash. You cannot sell me a product with your own rootkit in it. This will be a hard fight to win, but hopefully hackers will provide us with removal tools. In the meantime, dont sit idly on this. We need to be vocal that this type of invasion of privacy will not be tolerated. -- Espi On Thu, Dec 1, 2011 at 10:13 AM, Ben Scott <[email protected]> wrote: > On Thu, Dec 1, 2011 at 12:35 PM, John Hornbuckle > <[email protected]> wrote: > > Makes me extra glad to have Windows Phone. > > Do we have any reason to believe the carriers aren't tracking that > somehow, too? > > Some people said, "Glad I'm on Verizon!".
