Our providers as well as law enforcement want this.  The basic performance
metrics I can understand - but, as with anyone with too much power: it
corrupts and it cant be trusted - which is already evident in this case.

I can appreciate the desire from law enforcement to want to get gps and/or
cell triangulation tracking info - but I can also personally respond
definitively with a FU to that.  I should have a choice.  I bought this
thing.  Its not your electronic leash.  You cannot sell me a product with
your own rootkit in it.

This will be a hard fight to win, but hopefully hackers will provide us
with removal tools.  In the meantime, dont sit idly on this.  We need to be
vocal that this type of invasion of privacy will not be tolerated.
